Yes! We serve hot meals and nutritious snacks. Our Center is equipped with a kitchen and staff trained in nutrition, USDA and North Carolina Department of Education guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Weekly menus are posted on the parent board of each classroom.

The registration process will require the following: Proof of income/source of income, Health and Immunization form, Immunization Record for all children being enrolled, and Authorization for Emergency Medical Care. If your child requires medication, you will also need the Authorization for Dispensing Medication form.

The registration process usually takes between one to two hours. There are many forms required for the registration of your child(ren). We like to answer as many questions as possible during your enrollment and provide information on our safety procedures and other important items which are applicable at the time of registration.

1. Dropping off your child

Before your first day, you’ll receive instructions on how to access our secure building. When you enter, please sign your child in the lobby and accompany your child to the classroom, ensuring a teacher is aware of your arrival.

Your child’s reaction to their first day will vary. Some children run right into the classroom while others cry. Both of these reactions (and any in between) are completely normal.

2. Getting acquainted with your child’s classroom

Be sure to locate your child’s personal cubby. This is a space dedicated to your child’s belongings, and any letters or progress reports to take home. Also ask the teacher where the family communication board is located. This board is where weekly lesson plans, calendars and menus are posted.

3. What to wear

Please dress your child in comfortable, seasonally-appropriate clothing that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor play. For your child’s safety, all mobile children should wear tennis shoes or sneakers with a skid resistant sole. Crocs, sandals, flip-flops, slippers, and boots (no matter how cute!) are not permitted at school. Hoop or dangling earrings are also not permitted, since this jewelry can get accidentally pulled or caught during play. Your child’s teacher may remove jewelry he or she feels may be unsafe to wear in a group environment.

4. What to bring

Please bring at least one complete change of seasonal clothing, labeled with your child’s name. Please do not bring outside snacks to school, as this is prohibited. If your child has medically-necessary dietary restrictions, please contact your Director. Children aged 12 months to Pre-K are provided with a rest/nap time in a cot or crib each day, as required by licensing. Cots are provided, please bring cot sheets from home.

5. Picking up your child

At the end of the day, please pick up your child from his or her classroom and sign out using the lobby clipboard. Because our schools are open from early morning to late evening, our teachers have varying shifts. For this reason, you may see different teachers in your child’s classroom in the afternoon.

Additionally, in the hours of the day when there are fewer children and teachers present, we may combine classrooms. You will be notified of these changes by your Director or through signs on classroom doors.

We’ll handle your child with care!
